Lane Clarke - ArtHouse LiteraryLane Clark of ArtHouse Literary

A little bit about Lane:

Lane Clarke is an agent at ArtHouse Literary. She earned a Bachelors’ degree in English Literature from Virginia Tech, and a J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School. Lane is a Young Adult author and works as an attorney in Washington, D.C. When asked what she’s looking for in picture books, Lane replied, “I’m looking for humorous picture books (I want to laugh out loud!) and picture books that explore different cultures and worldviews, whether that be different celebrations throughout the world or small moments with a grandparent, etc.”

A little bit about Sandra:

Sandra Proudman is a literary associate at Gallt & Zacker Literary Agency who is proud to represent a small-but-mighty group of diverse children’s authors and illustrators. When not busily immersed in all things publishing, you can find her spending time with her amazing husband and adorable toddler, catching up on all her shows, and taking care of her vegetable garden. She is also the author of the YA fantasy, Salvación (winter 2025/Wednesday Books) and the editor of the Latinx anthology Relit: 16 Latinx Remixes of Classic Stories, (February 6, 2024/Inkyard Press). Connect with her on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok @SandraProudman.

When asked what she’s looking for in submissions, Sandra replied:

“I love character-driven and non-fiction picture books and am mainly looking to stay in this area. Whether they’re featuring animal protagonists or children, the stories that appeal to me are the ones that teach with humor. I want to see kids learn something, but also go on an adventure! For non-fiction, I’m particularly interested in a deep dive into an animal or subject matter and how they play a role in our world. I don’t have any anti-mswl at the moment, but I would love to remain in the character-driven and non-fiction space.”
